![]() Overall a good effort and a decent soulslike that's criminally underrated. + A boss phased through the wall, falling to it's death (hilarious). Still some bugs including one that stops you getting one of the endings. Boring forgettable soundtrack (not even metal adjacent). There's not quite enough lore to go around and the endings are a bit weak. I missed out on the 'Good' ending due to a glitch. Fast travel needs to be unlocked for each save point with single use rare items that make the early game a bit annoying. + There are multiple paths to follow from area to area. Most of the bosses come back as normal enemies in later areas. Hellpoint on Xbox One has a lot of good points certainly enough to recommend it. /rebates/2fen2fgame2fhellpoint&. Fight dreadful creatures, face the Cosmic Gods and unravel their twisted story. ![]() + Bosses are mostly fun (except the 2v1 boss early on). 4.8 Generally unfavorable reviews based on 4 Ratings Your Score 0 Summary: Hellpoint is an intense action RPG taking place on Irid Novo, a derelict space station soaked in an intoxicating dark sci fi atmosphere. ![]() 'Strength' weapons feel inferior to 'dex' weapons. Good luck working out the black hole gates without a walkthrough. The map feels too samey sometimes and it's easy to get lost. There's a fair amount i could say about this game but instead i'll just list a few good and bad points: The early game is hard but once you have the hang of the mechanics and worked out what the game hasn't told you you'll be flying through with little difficulty. This is a great idea that allows you flexibility beyond farming upgrade materials Weapons are upgraded by levelling up conductors (with experience) that are then equipped to the weapon which then allows you to change weapons any time you want by simply travelling back to the observatory that exists as your main hub. This blend of short range and long range combat is quite fun once you get the hang of bouncing between weapons, however most enemies are trivialised by attacking them from range so you quickly fall into a routine. There's a plethora of interesting weapons that fall under either melee or ranged your ranged weapons and melee special abilities use energy that's replenished by hitting your foes with melee attacks(which also fills your healing charges). Should the challenge be too great, play with a friend in local or online coop. I'd probably give this game a 7, or maybe an 8 based on how many hours I've sunk in, but I'm adding some points to balance the overly harsh reviews.Hellpoint is Dark Souls in space with a dash of Doom(2016). Hellpoint is an intense action RPG taking place on Irid Novo, a derelict space station soaked in an intoxicating dark sci fi atmosphere. The game might not have triple A studio graphics, but gameplay wise I've really been enjoying it. I have encountered a few bugs, but nowhere near what others have been saying. The game is filled with secrets, with exploration really being a hugely important part of the game. It's not going to unseat dark souls as the top soulslike game, but definitely a great option for those who think they have played them all. On the one hand, it tries to emulate concepts that made the Souls series (and other action games) very popular. Setting and art direction surely original and interesting with a good dose of level design. Hellpoint review: The final verdict Hellpoint truly is one confounding product. A must play for fans of dark souls and the surge. In the vast panorama of soulslike games, Hellpoint sits on the lower end of the difficulty scale, bringing a couple of interesting innovations to the genre. The dead space meets dark souls vibe is fantastic. ![]() A must play for fans of dark souls and the surge. ![]()
